27 Apr, 2006 |
As Janet Paraskeva, the Law Society Chief Executive since 1 October 2000 leaves her post in the summer, the Law Society will now have three Chief Executives. The Law Society has split its three roles: as a "trade union," representing the interests of over 110,000 solicitors in England and Wales, as a regulator and the body handling complaints against solicitors. The separation of roles came about following the recommendation in the Clementii report. Desmond Hudson has been appointed as the Chief Executive for Representation and Professional Services and Antony Townsend appointed as the Chief Executive of the Regulations Service. The third Chief executive for Consumer Complaints Service is yet to be appointed. |
